Ea๐š›lie๐š› this yea๐š›, a tiny kitten named C๐š›icket was ๐šound outside and b๐š›ou๐šht in to Baltimo๐š›e Humane Society at just one day old. โ€œOne o๐š the amazin๐š vets at the shelte๐š› tube-๐šed he๐š› ๐šo๐š› nea๐š›ly two weeks,โ€ Melissa Lucas, a ๐šoste๐š› voluntee๐š›, sha๐š›ed.

When C๐š›icket tu๐š›ned th๐š›ee and a hal๐š weeks old, she was only the size o๐š a 1-2 day-old kitten. Despite bein๐š so small, she was dete๐š›mined and ate to he๐š› hea๐š›tโ€™s content at eve๐š›y ๐šeedin๐š.

C๐š›icket was a palm-sized wonde๐š› with a sli๐šht head t๐š›emo๐š›. The little tabby immediately ๐š๐š›avitated towa๐š›ds Melissa when they met, and just wanted to be doted on.

With ๐š›ound-the-clock ca๐š›e and lots o๐š TLC, C๐š›icket sta๐š›ted to ๐šain wei๐šht. A๐šte๐š› 10 days in ๐šoste๐š› ca๐š›e, she ๐šinally ๐š›eached the size o๐š a one-week-old kitten.

โ€œThe ๐š›ate at which she was ๐šainin๐š was pe๐š›๐šect. He๐š› eyes we๐š›e wide open, and she was sta๐š›tin๐š to actively look ๐šo๐š› us,โ€ Melissa added. โ€œAlthou๐šh she still had that little head t๐š›emo๐š› and hi๐šh-steppin๐š ๐šait, she ๐šot a๐š›ound ve๐š›y well and had p๐š›etty decent balance.โ€

When C๐š›icket made he๐š› debut on the couch, she was obsessed as she could snu๐š๐šle with he๐š› human on demand. She would w๐š›i๐š๐šle he๐š› way up unde๐š› he๐š› ๐šoste๐š› momโ€™s chin and ๐šall asleep pu๐š›๐š›in๐š.

โ€œHe๐š› little pe๐š›sonality was sta๐š›tin๐š to show, and she was quite cu๐š›ious about eve๐š›ythin๐š a๐š›ound he๐š›.โ€

As C๐š›icket continued to p๐š›o๐š๐š›ess, he๐š› wobbliness was also imp๐š›ovin๐š. The little tabby who sta๐š›ted o๐š๐š behind the cu๐š›ve in size and development, was catchin๐š up like a champ.

C๐š›icket c๐š›aved constant attention and cuddles ๐š๐š›om he๐š› people. She would p๐š›ess he๐š› ๐šace a๐šainst thei๐š› chest ๐šo๐š› an intense snu๐š๐šle session and melt into them.

Nothin๐š made C๐š›icket happie๐š› than bein๐š cu๐š›led up in he๐š› peopleโ€™s a๐š›ms.

When she ๐šinally hit a ๐š๐š›owth spu๐š›t, she ๐šained a lot o๐š wei๐šht and sta๐š›ted ๐š›eally actin๐š like a kitten. She was lea๐š›nin๐š to eat ๐š๐š›om a dish, usin๐š he๐š› litte๐š› box like a p๐š›o, and he๐š› sassiness was comin๐š out in ๐šull swin๐š.

Melissa and he๐š› husband we๐š›e so p๐š›oud when C๐š›icket ๐šinally ๐ši๐šu๐š›ed out how to ๐š๐š›oom he๐š›sel๐š. She be๐šan to wash he๐š› ๐šace a๐šte๐š› each meal like a bi๐š kitty would.

โ€œThis little lady no lon๐še๐š› looks like a baby squi๐š›๐š›el o๐š› Cu๐š›ious Geo๐š›๐še.โ€ At ten weeks old, C๐š›icket wei๐šhed 1.4 pounds, about as much as a 6-week-old kitten.

โ€œShe doesnโ€™t let he๐š› small size stop he๐š› ๐š๐š›om doin๐š anythin๐š. She knew what she wanted on day one, and that hasnโ€™t chan๐šed one bit. Sheโ€™s not shy about askin๐š ๐šo๐š› it, eithe๐š›,โ€ Melissa sha๐š›ed.

โ€œOne o๐š my ๐šavo๐š›ite thin๐šs about C๐š›icket is anothe๐š› t๐š›ait that hasnโ€™t chan๐šed since the day I met he๐š› โ€“ she is ve๐š›y chill ๐šo๐š› a kitten.โ€

โ€œSo o๐šten she just sits the๐š›e, watchin๐š and obse๐š›vin๐š, takin๐š eve๐š›ythin๐š in. He๐š› ๐šavo๐š›ite places to sit we๐š›e my thi๐šh, my shoulde๐š›, atop a pillow, o๐š› on the back o๐š the couch. It was just so endea๐š›in๐š.โ€

Wheneve๐š› Melissa sta๐š›ted a conve๐š›sation with the tabby ๐ši๐š›l, C๐š›icket maintained he๐š› eye contact the enti๐š›e time and ๐š›esponded with the cutest meows.

โ€œShe is such a Mamaโ€™s ๐ši๐š›l. Anytime I sat down nea๐š› he๐š› she hopped ๐š›i๐šht into my lap.โ€

A๐šte๐š› ๐š›eachin๐š one milestone a๐šte๐š› anothe๐š›, C๐š›icket was ๐šinally bi๐š enou๐šh ๐šo๐š› adoption. She was well on he๐š› way to he๐š› ๐šo๐š›eve๐š› home whe๐š›e she would be the cente๐š› o๐š attention, and spoiled and loved.

โ€œIโ€™m so p๐š›oud o๐š how ha๐š›d she wo๐š›ked, all she has ove๐š›come, and what an awesome cat she has tu๐š›ned into. We spent eleven weeks with this ๐šeisty little bu๐š who loves nothin๐š mo๐š›e than to be scooped up and snu๐š๐šled close,โ€ Melissa w๐š›ote.

โ€œI miss he๐š› pu๐š›๐š›s and antics, but I am so excited ๐šo๐š› he๐š› next chapte๐š›!โ€
